Poster work made to sell at CMYK event in Hay On Wye.
The end goal of the project was to create illustrations to be sold on a stall ran by myself at the Hay on Wye Art Festival. The pieces were to be made with an audience in mind, to particularly draw in their attention and make sales.

Early research indicated that posters were some of the most purchased pieces of art at an event like this, and so from there, researchers into current movies and their audience helped to narrow down the project. Spider-Man into the Spider Verse was relevant at the time and the audience was likely to be present at the festival. Additionally, the nature of the film meant there were many subtle references to play with in the designs of the posters, providing many different possibilities. Research into the audience helped to pinpoint which elements to include in the poster to appeal to them. This research helped going into the design stage as it narrowed down the areas to focus on to have the best outcome.

The end product was two posters, the first aimed at a children, the second for older audience (teens and young adults). The first used a significant character from the film to be immediately recognisable, the second used more subtle references and picked from different elements of the movie. Both posters were sold on a stall at the festival, and proved to be appealing to the applicable audiences. Additionally, smaller versions of the posters and elements off them were turned into stickers, which helped boost sales.
